We’re looking for a Revenue Assurance Manager to join our Merchant Division — a critical role responsible for safeguarding revenue accuracy, strengthening financial controls, and ensuring complete and reliable billing, reporting, and revenue recognition. 💼 Purpose
The Revenue Assurance Manager ensures the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of revenue across the Merchant division. This includes owning revenue recognition, billing assurance, internal controls, system governance, and audit readiness.
A key responsibility is preparing the organisation for its transition to a single ERP environment, ensuring revenue processes, mappings, and structures are standardised, scalable, and fully compliant.
This role operates across Technology, Finance, Commercial, and Operations — requiring both technical accounting strength and operational understanding.

🔍 Key Responsibilities
Revenue Recognition & Technical Accounting
- Govern end‑to‑end revenue recognition in line with IFRS 15.
- Review commercial agreements for accurate accounting treatment.
- Prepare and maintain technical accounting papers.
- Ensure strong month‑end cut‑off, completeness, and revenue accuracy.
SOX Compliance & Financial Controls
- Ensure all revenue processes and system configurations comply with SOX.
- Maintain documentation and evidence for SOX key controls.
- Support SOX walkthroughs, testing, and control validation.
- Assess the SOX impact of system or process changes.
- Strengthen change‑management and financial‑risk controls.
- Remediate deficiencies with sustainable corrective actions.
- Ensure audit trails, segregation of duties, and data integrity.
- Partner with Technology, Internal Audit, and Shared Services for ongoing SOX readiness.
Billing Assurance & System Integrity
- Oversee accuracy and completeness of billing runs.
- Validate pricing, billing logic, and configuration rules.
- Partner with Technology to ensure revenue‑critical data flows are correct.
- Investigate anomalies, leakage, or mapping gaps.
Product & Vertical Setup & Reporting Integrity
- Define and maintain product and vertical structures for revenue classification.
- Ensure correct setup and mapping of products, fees, and device types across systems.
- Maintain clean revenue hierarchies and segmentation.
- Validate system logic for driver‑aligned revenue reporting.
- Partner with Product, Technology, and Operations on new offer configuration.
System Integration & ERP Migration
- Lead revenue assurance workstreams for the single‑ERP integration.
- Define finance requirements for revenue configurations and controls.
- Support testing, mapping alignment, and standardisation.
- Validate system buildouts for compliance with policies and reporting requirements.
Controllership, Governance & Internal Controls
- Maintain RACM documentation for revenue and billing.
- Design and implement controls to prevent leakage and errors.
- Own reconciliations across systems and GL.
- Ensure governance and adherence to policies across entities.
- Drive process standardisation.
Engagement with Internal & External Auditors
- Act as audit lead for all revenue‑related areas.
- Provide walkthroughs, evidence, and technical responses.
- Address audit findings and ensure remediation.
- Maintain audit readiness year‑round.
Revenue Analytics, Monitoring & Insights
- Develop dashboards for exceptions, anomalies, and assurance monitoring.
- Provide insights on leakage risks, system trends, and mapping issues.
- Support Finance & Operations with validated revenue actuals.
- Present assurance findings to senior stakeholders.
Cross‑Functional Business Partnering
- Partner with Commercial, Product, Technology, Operations, and Customer Care.
- Resolve disputes, mapping issues, system gaps, and defects.
- Influence best practice in pricing governance and system configuration.
- Act as a bridge between Finance controllership and technical teams.
Continuous Improvement & Value Protection
- Recommend automation, validation tools, and exception reporting.
- Drive scalable, standardised revenue processes.
- Support Shared Services optimisation initiatives.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
Mandatory
- CA(SA)
- 3–5 years post‑article experience in audit, technical accounting, systems finance, or revenue assurance
- Strong IFRS 15 expertise
- Experience with billing platforms, revenue systems, or ERP environments
Preferred
- Experience in fintech, payments, telco, or similar
- Exposure to ERP migrations
- Familiarity with data validation and assurance analytics
