We are looking for a Tech Operator with hands-on experience in technology operations, infrastructure monitoring, and systems uptime management.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll form part of our TechOps team, responsible for 24/7 monitoring and first-line operational support of Lesaka’s systems, infrastructure, and critical services.

  • Monitor system performance, network health, and application uptime using TechOps monitoring tools and dashboards.
  • Identify and escalate system degradation, failures, and alerts following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform Data Centre and Communications Room checks, including servers, UPS, aircon units, and generators.
  • Conduct environmental and security monitoring using camera systems and sensor pods.
  • Track and resolve incidents during load shedding or power interruptions.
  • Support backup management, system logs, and shift handover reporting.
  • Run daily operational reports using tools such as Power BI, Excel, and Looker Studio.
  • Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and access logs.
  • Provide first-line support for building or tech emergencies after hours.

 

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • Matric (Grade 12) essential
  • CompTIA A+ and N+ (or equivalent technical certification)
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and monitoring tools
  • Practical experience in Technology Operations, Data Centre Operations, or IT Systems Support
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Networks & systems basics
    • Helpdesk and incident escalation processes
    • Backup systems and monitoring software
    • UEPS and Stratus (advantageous)
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Power BI or Looker Studio for reporting

 

Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a Technology Operations / NOC / IT Support environment (required)
  • Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT systems or data centres

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation discipline
  • Effective communicator across all levels
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently

 

Working Conditions

  • 12-hour rotational shifts (day/night), including weekends and public holidays
  • Must be available for overtime as needed
  • Valid South African driver’s licence (Code 8)
