⭐ Role Summary

The KYC / Client Verification Intern will support the Fraud & Verifications team by conducting customer KYC verification, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining accurate records while delivering professional customer interaction.
This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, high integrity, and a keen interest in compliance, risk, and customer authentication processes.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

⚡ 1. Customer Verification

• Conduct KYC verification via phone, email (ticketing system), and WhatsApp (Freshchat – internal system).
• Verify identity documents and supporting documentation.
• Validate customer information against internal databases.
• Identify discrepancies and escalate suspicious cases.

🛡️ 2. Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to FICA / AML regulations.
• Flag high‑risk profiles for review.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive customer data.

🤝 3. Customer Interaction

• Professionally communicate document requirements.
• Follow verification scripts and escalation procedures.
• Handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.

• SLA adherence
• Accuracy rate (document verification errors)
• Escalation quality
• Daily ticket management rate

💡 Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High integrity and confidentiality
• Basic understanding of KYC principles (advantageous)
• Ability to manage repetitive tasks with accuracy
• Emotional intelligence when dealing with customers

🎓 Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Risk Management or related field 
• Computer literacy
• Familiarity with compliance environments is advantageous
